Golf Scramble and Leukemia Benefit

Play in a 4 person golf scramble tournament, and raise money for a good cause at the Ryton Miller Leukemia Benefit at the Oak Brook Golf Course in Edwardsville on Saturday, July 31. There will be a noon shotgun start. Cost is $80 per person or $320 per team. 18 Holes w/ cart ~ Skins & Mulligans included. There will be hot dogs and brats at the turn and dinner to follow. 3 Flights – 3 Places per Flight – Based on a Full Field. Attendance Prizes ~ 50/50 drawing. Hole Sponsorship is available for $100. The Matt Steel Band at Laurie’s

The Matt Steel Band plays Laurie’s Place in downtown Edwardsville on Friday, July 30, starting at 9.30 pm. This band is made up of a group of musicians who studied at SIUE’s excellent music program. Expect a great mix of country and rock.

Matt Steel will play Laurie’s with a special guest on July 25 from 4 – 8 pm.

Mud Mountain Run

Do you like running? Do you like getting covered in mud? If you’ve answered yes to both these questions then the 5k Mud Mountain Run on Saturday, July 24, is for you. The fundraising event for the Edwardsville Cross Country and Track & Field Booster Club takes place on a 3.1 mile course on SIUE campus. All proceeds from the race help fund programs at Liberty and Lincoln Middle Schools and Edwardsville High School.

The race will go ahead rain or shine and will be suspended only in case of lightning.

If this doesn’t put you off, register online at www.mudmountain.org or at the course at 6am on race day. Run starts at 8am. There are t-shirts supplied to all runners.
