Edwardsville Halloween Guide

Well folks, Halloween has come and gone, making most of the information below completely irrelevant. But you can now upload your favorite videos from this year’s Halloween festivities to our YouTube feed.

Halloween has always been my favorite time of year. When I was a kid, it was all about the candy. When I was in college, it was all about the party. These days, it’s a little of both. With the events listed below, we’ve got all the Halloween bases covered.

Family Fun

Next to trick-or-treating, obviously the highlight of the season for most families, probably one of the biggest events of the season is the Edwardsville-Glen Carbon Halloween Parade which starts at 6:30 pm Halloween night (you’ll want to get there early to get a good spot though).  SIUE alumni and their families are getting together to watch the parade and have some fun together. Families may want to check out the Great Godfrey Corn Maze, which is open all week, has extended hours on Halloween, and puts on a heck of a show that kids and adults can enjoy.

Halloween for Grown Ups

On Halloween night, Laurie’s and Big Daddy’s and The Stagger Inn Again will be putting together some big parties (Big Daddy’s even has a pre-Halloween party, in case one Halloween isn’t enough for you). Hot 104.1 is putting on their Halloween Havoc party, which you’ll want to pre-purchase your tickets for. SIUE is also putting on a black comedy, The Pillowman, suitable for some high brow Halloween entertainment. Johnny’s Sidebar in Collinsville will host 20 metal bands in two nights, at its Mid-American Metal Fest, starting Friday.

Finally,  the Sigma-Pi Haunted Trail on the SIUE campus ended on the October 25.

That’s it for now. Have a fun Halloween, and please feel free to submit an event if there’s anything we missed. We’re always glad to add more, and it’s free.
