Winter Celebrations at Edwardsville’s Children’s Museum

December brings Winter Celebrations to The Children’s Museum. From Tuesday, December 1, through Saturday, January 2, children can explore celebrations through crafts, activities, music, games and books.

“We began hosting Winter Celebrations three years ago to educate our visitors about the many, different celebrations that children participate in around the world,” says Lisa Leehy, Children’s Museum executive director. “We have researched many celebrations, and will feature four familiar ones this year; Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Las Posadas. The remainder of the Museum, including Star City exhibits, will be open for free exploration.”

Admission for Winter Celebrations is $5 per person, or free for Museum members. Visitors may become members at any time. Winter Celebrations will be open each day the Museum is open and for field trips and birthday parties.

The Children’s Museum’s is open on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm. Details on field trips, birthday parties and admission can be obtained by contacting the museum at www.childrens-museum.net, or 618-692-2094.
