8th Annual Glen-Ed Last Night New Year’s Eve Benefit at YMCA Edwardsville

The Eden United Church of Christ and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host the 8th Annual Glen-Ed Last Night Celebration from 7 at YMCA’s Meyer Center on December 31. The event features live music and entertainment for young and old, food and drinks.
Tickets cost $5 per person (children under three are free), and all proceeds go to local charities.

There will be a special New Year’s Eve celebration at 11 pm.

Christmas Candlelight Ceremony at 1st Baptist Church of Maryville

There will be two candlelight Christmas ceremonies at Maryville’s 1st Baptist Church. They will take place on December 24. The first will take place at 5 pm and the second at 7 pm.

Santa House at City Park

Visit Santa and his elf at his house in City Park. He is greeting boys and girls every Saturday from 1-4 pm and Wednesday from 5.30-8.30pm until December 23rd. The visit is free but you can purchase a Polaroid picture in a keepsake frame for $3.

Pick Your Christmas Tree at Prairie Pines Christmas Tree Farm

Pick your 2010 Christmas Tree at Prairie Pines Christmas Trees Farm.

You choose and you cut or you choose and they cut. Either way tree shaking is provided. Saws are also available.

There is a gift shop, snack and refreshment stand.

Open Monday to Saturday from 10 am until dusk and Sunday from 1 to 4 pm.

Gloria Christmas Concert at Center Grove Presbyterian Church

There will be an innovative musical presentation of the beloved Christmas story includes a unique blend of new Christmas anthems with favorite yuletide carols at Center Grove Presbyterian Church on Sunday, December 19 from 6 to 8 pm.

The music, written by Mark Hayes, will be presented by the Center Grove Presbyterian Adult Choir.

Admission is free and Refreshments will be served after the performance.

barBabes Ugly Sweater Contest for Charity

Go on! Admit it! It’s there at the back of your wardrobe. Now’s the time to bring it out and give it all the glory it deserves. The barBabes are having an ugly sweater christmas contest on Friday, December 3 at Springers Creek Winery. Prizes will be provided for the least tasteful option. Be there at 6 pm. There will be apetizers and wine and beverages to purchase.

Entry costs $10. The proceeds of the event will go to bB christmas family.
