Zumba Night at YMCA Edwardsville Skate Center

There will be a Zumba Night in YMCA Edwardsville’s Skate Center on Sunday, November 14^th from 6-7.30 pm.

Entry costs $11 for non-members and $6 for members. Bring a donation to Glen Ed Pantry for $1 off admission.

In case you’re wondering Zumba is a mix of aerobics and dance.

Edwardsville Cyclery Road Ride

Every Tuesday The Cyclery puts together a one to two hour road ride, starting at 6 pm. Pace is determined by the group, which has apparently been meeting since 1986. Sixty to Seventy Mile Road Ride

Enjoy this 60 to 70 mile road ride in and around Edwardsville every Sunday starting at 9 am. The ride usually lasts between 2 to 4 hours, the pace is determined by the group. Wag-n-Walk and 5k Run at LeClaire Park for MEHS

Want to help support homeless pets? The Metro East Humane Society (MEHS) will organize a Wag-n-Walk and 5k walk at LeClaire Park on September 18 at 8 am.

Basic registration costs $10. Registration with t-shirt and gift bag costs $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Medals will be awarded to the top man and woman in each age bracket.

Mud Mountain Run

Do you like running? Do you like getting covered in mud? If you’ve answered yes to both these questions then the 5k Mud Mountain Run on Saturday, July 24, is for you. The fundraising event for the Edwardsville Cross Country and Track & Field Booster Club takes place on a 3.1 mile course on SIUE campus. All proceeds from the race help fund programs at Liberty and Lincoln Middle Schools and Edwardsville High School.

The race will go ahead rain or shine and will be suspended only in case of lightning.

If this doesn’t put you off, register online at www.mudmountain.org or at the course at 6am on race day. Run starts at 8am. There are t-shirts supplied to all runners.

YMCA Children’s Soccer Skills Camp

If you think your little one might have what it takes to be the next Pele or Mia Hamm then bring them along to Edwardsville YMCA for its soccer skills camp between July 19 and 22. The camp is for children entering Kindergarten through 8th grade. Camp runs from 9:30-10:45 am.

The cost for members is $20 or $30 for non-members.

Camp will take place at the YMCA soccer fields located at SIUE (next to Korte Stadium).

Keep yourself motivated this winter. Every Saturday at 9 am, hardcore runners can get together on the SIUE campus for 2.5 mile loops on the campus trail. Click here for a map of the course and more information.

NWA Dynamo Pro Wrestling in Glen Carbon

Glen Carbon’s Sports Academy plays host to a NWA Dynamo Pro Wrestling event on Saturday, May 22. The main show will be the NWA Missouri championship match. Doors open at 6pm while the main event starts at 8pm. Tickets: (Adults) $8 in advance , $10 Day of Show, (Children) 5-12 years $5, under 5s Free.
