Horror Writer Steve Niles at Hometown Comics

Horror comic book writer and novelist, Steve Niles, best known for 30 Days of Night, Spawn, Batman, among other titles will perform a signing session at Hometown Comics on June 8 from 3 pm – 7 pm.

Visitors have the opportunity to see Niles’ new series, “Mystery Society” as well as purchasing his previous work at special prices.

Artisan Demonstrations at Goshen Market

SIUE holds its annual Wagner Potter’s Association Semi-Annual Pottery and Glass Sale on December 4-5 from 9 am to 5 pm both days at the Art & Design Building Atrium. You’ll be able to purchase beautiful handmade ceramic and glass pieces by our faculty, students, and friends.

Let your kids get crafty.

The Edwardsville Arts Center offers Secret Books: Fun with Crafts, a six week class for kids in grades 4 to 8, on Saturdays from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm starting Oct. 3. Instructor Melissa Howland teaches kids to make secret boxes for jewelry or special items by using old books, wood and other items. We will also be making magnets and bubble stationary. This class is centered on the idea of fun, color and self expression. Come equipped with imagination. Cost is $90. Visit the arts center site for more info.

Enjoy a social evening and support the Edwardsville Public Library. There will be live jazz to listen to hors d’ouvres to snack and an auction of vintage library chairs. All the vintage chairs have been hand painted by local aritsts with the artists favorite book. The chairs are beautifull, intriguing, and artsy a great add to anyones home. ll proceeds for the evening will go to the library for purchasing materials. Buy your tickets August 1st at the library. YMCA Kids Art Sampler Class

The Edwardsville YMCA offers plenty of opportunities for kids to enjoy art.

Enjoy the ultimate arts sampler for kids ages 3-5 at Edwardsville’s Esic YMCA. Release your inner artist, “act” on your emotions, and dance like the stars!
